New fitted manual wheelchair
Hi all, if anyone that knows me will know I never ask for anything well here is the first.
Caiden is going to be getting a power chair this means they will take his manual chair away but he wants to be able to still have the option to use a manual chair.
A bit of background for those who don't know, caiden was diagnosed with pilocytic Astrocytoma (brain and spine tumours) in November 2022 he had multiple operations in months after that he had chemo which failed then went on to 6 weeks of radiotherapy which has held the tumours stable. Caiden woke up in February 2023 and could no longer feel his legs meaning he is paralysed. He now has a life threatening condition called Autonomic Dysreflexia (this is caused by pain below level on injury) and can happen without any warning this has the potential to cause a stroke or heart attack He has been having issues around his neck area too making his hands weak.
For anyone that knows Caiden he has an amazing sense of humour and his determination is unreal he never gives up no matter what he is faced with.
Obviously having a power chair will give him some independence back but for his upper body it is good to be able to push his manual chair. As you can see in the picture his posture is all wrong hence going to a professional. I am taking him to be professionally fitted for a active manual chair in Lowestoft on Monday. The new chair is going to between £3.5-4k once personal add ons have been added.
If anyone could be kind enough to donate towards the chair it would be very much appreciated I will continue to update and certainly wouldn't accept anymore than what is needed.
Much love.
