I am saddened to have to write this but on the evening of Monday 5th June the Scout Hut in Thurmaston village was broken into. During this break in a large amount of damage was caused to our fire doors and other external doors, as a result, these doors now need replacing.

We are devastated that our building was targeted and damaged so mindlessly. We run as a charity and therefore all money generated goes back into maintaining a safe space for the children and providing activities that develop life skills and encourage adventure.

We regularly fundraise by running events to help with the maintenance of the building but this is a cost that we didn't foresee.

We are very concious that everyone is feeling the pressure of the increase in cost of living. Our target to cover the work is ambitious but any donation would be gratefully received and will go some way to releaving this financial burden that has been placed upon us as a charity.
