A Plea for a Change Within our Community
Ex high school and college basketball star, who also served as a High School Varsity basketball coach, now makes his moves ultimately for the cause of Christ.
Minister C.L. White has served the Lord’s Church faithfully in the small town of Lawtey, FL for the past twenty-four years. He is married and has been for forty-one years and has four children and two grands. Even though he is a wonderful caretaker for his wife the past twenty-four years, he still makes the time to spread the gospel of Christ throughout the county.
Although the congregation is small with an average attendance of thirty, they are very active within the community and making a difference in the lives of people. In addition, to being small in numbers, their building has very limited space. Due to lack of space, classes are held in the minister’s office, the auditorium, and foyer. When the church has lost loved ones due to death, they must have their families meet elsewhere. In addition, the lack of space hampers their active Outreach Ministry by introducing the community, the churched and unchurched, which they call “Heart Work”.
The congregation works diligently to enhance their place of Worship and recently replaced old and worn pews with new ones and believes they can become better Stewards of the Lord’s money by investing in their present building by adding additional space to become effective in meeting the needs of the congregation as well as the community.
Our goal is to add a Fellowship Hall that can be utilized for various church and community functions. The church at Lawtey is doing wonderful works for the cause of Christ, yet they are hampered greatly by the lack of finances. The donations provided will also be used to build an outside basketball court that will coincide with our mentorship program for our local youth, which the community desperately needs to bring about a positive change, in a safe and loving environment. This mentorship program will focus on building character, discipline, and provide a sense of hope for the hopeless. Our present ministries include clothing and feeding the needy, marriage and personal counseling, sick and shut in ministry. Also we are re- implementing our drug and chemical dependency program, monthly meals and activities for the elderly, and after school tutorial programs. If we can strengthen the community of our youth, we can change the world for the better. Remember, an idle mind is the devil's workshop .
as a formal high school basketball coach (Boys) at Bradford High School in Starke, Florida, I was able to place several students in college programs to continue their education as I HOPE TO DO NOW.
The estimated project will cost approximately $250,000.00, but they can’t pull this off without your support. To support to this great cause, please make checks payable to:

This is part of the area in which we hope to construct our outside basketball court, which will be used to train and mentor our youth.
This is the minister's church office, in addition to the children's class due to the lack of space.
This is the north side of the building where we hope to one day walk out of this door into the fellowship hall.
