Good day my friends, my name is John shelter the owner in coordinator of The People of New Directions. A employment readiness program for the homeless, as they begin to work to regain their lives from their tents back to our main Street society. We have worked very hard to save up to buy a truck unfortunately our workhorse part of our family and part of our community family also. As his truck has been through us for day one and has served us well. It will cost at least $8,000 to rebuild this engine if at all possible.
It has a healthy transmission and rear end as they were both rebuilt 3 years ago. It's stable and has taken us to pretty much every place in this County. whether it be on the beach or in the marshland or even in our forest it's gotten us there and helped us retrieve over 2 million pounds of trash and debris. We are trying to gather enough funds to get this part of our family back on the road again as a major asset to our community. The individuals I have working with me now have kicked it into overdrive to earn even more funds to get this vital piece of equipment fixed. However there's not much time before the mechanics will have to have it towed away. I am hoping that this does not have to be the end of this chapter.
It's my hopes and dreams that we've done enough for our communities and our businesses that they understand the importance of New Directions.
We do not need new, what we need to do is rebuild what we have, in belief and faith. I spoke with my crew members today and told him what the dilemma was. They all understood and some even offered to voluntarily be laid off due to us having just one vehicle again. My heart broke at that moment, this why I decided with the coaxing of the people on Facebook to go ahead and do a GoFundMe.
