Dear Friends, Family and Fellow World Travellers,
We all know what a tough year 2020 has been! The year is finally coming to a close and I suspect all of us in the US will bid the year "Good riddance!" I've worried about my friends, family, neighbors and co-workers but have always kept in mind the people who have enriched my life to great degrees when travelling outside the US.
I met Veeru in 2006 when my friend Marianne and I took off from CA to India for a 3 week adventure. We travelled with Veeru on one of his first tourist driving jobs (a job his father Ashok had done before him and trained him to do) starting in New Delhi and exploring north and west of that region. *** His kindness, intelligence and great desire to share India's culture, cuisine and family values left a huge impression on me, for which I will always be grateful. ***
Covid 19 has hit India especially hard. The tourist business there is almost non-existent. I am asking my friends, family, fellow world travellers and especially those who have travelled with Veeru or Ashok over the years to donate something (every little bit counts!) to help this family get through Covid with their future business, health and happiness intact. I am especially concerned about Veeru's two children Mishthi's (daughter) and Cheenu's (son) education. You donation will primarily endure their continued education. US dollars go a long way in New Delhi! Hoping we can meet my $3000 goal. Thank you everyone!
