New computer for SuperHouse video creation

My 2012 Macbook and 2013 iMac have served me well, but they're falling apart. They’re painfully slow for video editing, 3D design, PCB design, and livestreams.

It's time to replace them so that I can continue making videos about DIY home automation and assistive technology, which are published at https://www.youtube.com/superhousetv

I need a low-end laptop for portability and a powerful desktop with large screens. What I get will depend on Apple's upcoming M1X/M2 chips, and what devices they put them in. I may end up with a Macbook Air and a Mac Mini, for example.

I also need new screens: mine are so old that they are permanently dim.
