Hey ya’ll! After watching Freedom Writers in 2007, at least 10 years of working with youth since 2009, and teaching for 5 years in Title1 schools in OCPS (including Jones and Evans HS) 2012-2017, I started the non-profit called New Chosen Generation Youth in 2018.
Our mission is to EMPOWER youth to achieve their goals with ENCOURAGEMENT and EDUCATION.
There are a lot of urban youth
(specifically middle & high schoolers) that need assistance and guidance with many things other resources don’t provide. We plan to provide academic - educational support (especially in Language Arts-reading) and social development support to teens. We work with students from Orange Center, Motown, Crosstown, Mercy Drive, Ivey Lane, Lake Mann, and Washington Shores communities in additional to other surrounding areas.
Right now, we don't have a building. However, we have a potential location but we need the funds to secure the location and provide food & drinks biweekly.
Even if you can't donate at this time, please share.
Thanks for previous donations we have received to get our non-profit incorporated with the government. We still need more funding ($700+) to help with getting our non-profit 501c3 status with the IRS complete. Then we need at least $700 more for a safe place for students to get help with educational and financial goals while being around positive influences.
Thank you for considering us & please share! You are appreciated!
Shirts can also be purchased.
Checks can be made and/or funds sent via CashApp $NewChosen
