Our Vision
For over 45 years, Bungendore Preschool has been a cornerstone of early childhood education in our village, delivering an Exceeding standard of care and learning. As Bungendore grows and demand for preschool places surges, a larger precinct is needed to accommodate our growing community.

The current board has been diligently working on this project for the past three years. Throughout this time, multiple options were explored to identify the most suitable future site for the Preschool. After careful consideration of all factors, a new site has been determined as the most viable location to support the community’s long-term educational needs.

Now we’re inviting the community to help us make it the best it can possibly be for local children.

The Build – a two-block preschool precinct
The new Bungendore Preschool has been thoughtfully designed to bring learning, play and the village together across two neighbouring blocks in the heart of town.

Location:
  • Main preschool building on the CWA site at 40 Gibraltar Street
  • Expansive outdoor playscape on the Preschool-owned block at 37 Turallo Terrace

New Building Features (approx. 434m²):
  • Three playrooms expanding capacity from 75 to 110 licensed places
  • Covered verandahs with direct connection to outdoor areas
  • Dedicated program, meeting and administration spaces
  • Commercial kitchen, laundry and accessible amenities
  • Durable cladding, timber elements and pitched metal roof designed for longevity

Outdoor Playscape Includes:
  • Multi-level hardwood climbing fort and balance trail
  • Shaded sandpit and cubby structure
  • Impact-rated soft-fall and accessible pathways
  • Native landscaping reflecting the regional environment

Together, the new building and outdoor environment create a cohesive, sustainable and future-focused preschool precinct that strengthens our 40-year legacy and supports Bungendore families for generations to come.

Why we’re fundraising
Community fundraising is about what goes inside and around that new building – the things children, educators and families will see, touch and use every day.
Over 2025–2026, we are seeking up to $500,000 in tax-deductible donations to:

  • Fully furnish each classroom with durable, child-sized furniture, storage and soft furnishings
  • Build nature-rich outdoor play areas, including climbing structures, sand and water play, gardens and quiet nooks
  • Invest in specialist resources that support children with diverse learning needs
  • Enhance accessibility, shade and landscaping so the site is comfortable and welcoming in all seasons
  • Equip staff and children with contemporary learning technology and resources

Every dollar donated goes directly to making the new preschool more welcoming, inclusive and inspiring for children now and in the future.

What’s Already Funded & Our Key Supporters
With the support of the NSW Department of Education, Community Bank Bungendore and the Bungendore CWA, we are delivering a new purpose-built preschool precinct for our growing township. Confirmed funding enables us to:

  • Construct a purpose-built preschool on the CWA site at 40 Gibraltar Street, including three new classrooms and core infrastructure that meets all regulatory requirements
  • Lodge our Development Application and commence construction
  • Secure the 37 Turallo Terrace site for expanded outdoor play and future growth

Community Bank Bungendore has provided the largest grant in its history to help us secure the land at Turallo Terrace, creating an extended play space and long-term asset for the preschool. We are incredibly grateful for the support of Community Bank Bungendore. Their commitment to reinvesting in local priorities has given our preschool the confidence to plan for the future. This partnership is about more than funding, it’s about shared values, trust and a belief in the importance of early childhood education in building strong communities.

The CWA’s partnership in hosting the new building site and the NSW Department of Education’s Capital Works funding together provide the foundation that makes the new Bungendore Preschool possible. Community contributions will help make it exceptional.

Expected Outcomes
1. Safe, modern, and inclusive play infrastructure supporting physical development and wellbeing.
2. Increased preschool capacity to meet demand and fully implement NSW “Universal Access” policy.
3. Intergenerational benefit through collaboration with Bungendore CWA.
4. Sustainability features promoting environmental awareness.
5. Equity and inclusion for all children, including those with diverse learning needs.
6. Continuity of excellence: extending Bungendore Preschool’s 40-year legacy into the future.
