New Breath of Life for Colleen

Donation protected
Colleen has spent the last 20 years helping others and now it's time for her to ask for help, but knowing Colleen so well, I don't think she will so I’m asking for her.

Colleen and Ken met at church and were married in 2001, they both felt called to help people and families but weren't sure exactly how, but in no time at all the Lord presented/placed two sibling groups of foster children in their home, a few years after Colleen and Ken had officially adopted all of the children.
In 2007 Colleen survived breast cancer and after enduring many radiation treatments scar tissue started to develop in her lungs. Fast forward to 2020, Colleen was fully oxygen dependent. By the grace of God, in 2023 she has been approved for a double lung transplant, but we need your help now more than ever to get through this next phase of life!

The Moser family needs help funding some of these costs. The transplant will require a minimum of a two-month stay in San Francisco for Colleen and her caregiver, which includes expenses such as transportation, food and lodging. Additionally, there will be the costs of post-transplant medical care, medications, supplies, and at-home care. There are also home care needs for her husband and teenage children in her absence.
Colleen is the glue that holds the family together. By helping Colleen have this transplant you aren't just helping one person, you are helping her so that she can be healthy while continuing to help her spouse, children and grandchildren.
Colleen has always opened her home and has had foster children, and extended family as well as her own young adult children that have been in circumstances where they came back home to stay. More recently Colleen's home has also been occupied part-time with her granddaughters, which helps to give her the strength and motivation to realize she needs surgery as soon as possible so she can be around for years to come to see them grow.
For the last 3 months Colleen has been carrying this burden alone because her husband Ken is suffering from Huntington's disease and currently living in a Care Facility but is scheduled to come home before her surgery. Despite all of these major challenges which have impacted this families quality of life and level of independence, Ken and Colleen both have smiles on their faces every day and continue to remain optimistic.
I truly admire this family's perseverance and positive outlook.
Family and friends have asked how they can help. At that point, we simply wait “on-call” until the donated organs are available. When the call comes we have to get to San Francisco within two hours. As we sort out logistics, it is clear that financial assistance will help. UCSF has made it clear that they cannot proceed with transplant without assurance that some of these expenses are covered.

We are asking for donations and whatever small or large gift you can give. These donations are our hope for a longer life for Colleen and her beautiful family for many more years to come. Your gifts of money are so much more than just that.
