New Books for My Classroom Library

Hi, my name is Alexei Moon Casselle, and I teach 9th-grade literature in South Minneapolis. I am asking for your help to purchase new books for my classroom library so that my students have current titles that reflect their interests, identities, and experiences.

As someone who had his life changed by books at a young age, I know the importance of having a variety of genres and titles available for young minds to indulge in. Our Foundations of Literature class will include a substantial amount of time to read in class, both individually and in book clubs, as well as offer book rentals for students to take home. I plan to only purchase books from local bookstores like Moon Palace Books, Birchbark Books, Magers & Quinn, and Wild Rumpus Books. I also will prioritize supporting authors that reflect the incredibly diverse community of my school and city.

Our students will be back to school and in the building shortly, and I would love to have my bookshelves filled with an incredible assortment of texts to grab their attention and pique their interests. Thank you for your consideration on behalf of my students. Every dollar helps!
