Expecting Jasper Couple Lose Home

Hi family and friends, this is Linda Vidal,

Between the unmatched beauty of Jasper in our beautiful Canadian Rockies and the quality of its human beings, this town became a permanent home for my pregnant daughter Mélanie and her partner Joshua, who are expecting a little girl in January!

This summer, the apartment was affected by the wild fire carnage, damaging its content, and without any insurance in effect.

I’m reaching out with a mother’s concerned heart. They are grieving the loss of the apartment, the community and the vision they had to welcome their first child in Jasper. How can we help them create a new place that they can call home before the arrival of their precious little girl in January?

We are taking this opportunity to thank every single brave individual involved in fighting these fires. You are the reason that for many residents, there is a Jasper to go back to. A special thank you to hero Morgan Kitchen, firefighter, who was taken away too soon.

I am humbly asking for your help on their unexpected new beginning. Also kind words, information on employment near Kimberley (BC), furnishings, clothing or a friendly face are appreciated.

Bonjour famille et amis-es, c’est Linda Vidal,

La beauté incomparable de Jasper dans les Rocheuses canadiennes et la qualité inégalée de ses résidents ont fait en sorte que cette ville est devenue le lieu de résidence permanent de ma fille Mélanie et de son conjoint Joshua qui attendent une petite fille en janvier.

Cet été, l’appartement a été la proie des flammes durant les feux de forêt, endommageant la grande partie des biens et ce, sans assurance.

C’est avec mon cœur de maman que je communique avec vous aujourd’hui. En plein deuil de l’appartement, d’une communauté et d’une vision qu’ils avaient d’accueillir leur enfant à Jasper, je me demande comment nous pourrions les aider à emménager un autre endroit qu’ils pourront appeler leur nid familial, avant l’arrivée de leur précieuse petite fille.

Nous prenons cette opportunité pour remercier chaque brave individu impliqué dans le combat de ces feux de forêt. C’est grâce à vous que plusieurs résidents ont l’opportunité de retourner à leur domicile.

Un grand merci à Morgan Kitchen, pompier, un héros appelé trop rapidement.
