I arrived to Central Michigan University in 2015 with a full-ride scholarship for football. Through my three years of playing, I decided football was not what I wanted to do with the rest of my college career. After deciding to retire, I auditioned for the Bassoon Studio at CMU under MaryBeth Minnis and have been there since 2017. As a formally trained musician, I have aspirations of becoming a principal bassoonist in an orchestra and play jazz bassoon. However, my ultimate goal is to communicate with people through my music which words cannot.   To be able to reach these goals, my own talent and hard work can only take me so far. The instrument I play will be a very large part in how I develop as a bassoonist. As a college student coming from an underprivileged family in Metro Detroit, buying an expensive instrument seems nearly impossible. My next step being graduate school in Fall of 2021, having my own bassoon by then would be the best case scenario. Every cent that this fundraiser accumulates will be used to by a bassoon best suited for me.  To everyone who is kind enough to donate, thank you.
