Help Boatsje get a new Autopilot

Hi, my name is Lucas Elderhorst and I am an 18 years old Mini 650 sailor. The Mini 650 is a 6.5 meter ocean going racing boat, and I am the skipper of Mini 817 Boatsje. This is a prototype, which means it you can do anything you want with the boat as long as it fits withing the box of: 6,5m long, 2m deep, 12m high and 3m wide. The boat is an extreme racing boat designed to cross the Atlantic ocean solo.

To cross the Atlantic solo your equipment needs to be top notch, especially if you do it in a race. The most important piece of equipment is your autopilot which, when you sail offshore alone is your best mate. It can steer the boat so you can sleep and eat. The current setup can only steer my boat in easy conditions, meaning that when it gets tough. This means I need to waste energy on hand steering when I should be inside resting. This is why I am running this fundraiser to be able to afford a new and proven autopilot which will be able to steer my boat throughout all conditions.

All profits will go towards a new autopilot and improving the boat.
