Hello Ala Costa Friends and Donors,
We trust this message finds you in good health and high spirits!
We're thrilled to announce we are building a ADA-compliant universally designed kitchen, and we need your help to make it a reality! At Ala Costa Centers, our unwavering commitment has always been to provide inclusive and accessible educational opportunities for our community of children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Our site at 1300 Rose Street in Berkeley has been a hub of learning, growth, and community engagement for all Ala Costa students and participants. With ADA-compliant features, we can ensure that everyone, regardless of their abilities, can participate in cooking classes and various culinary activities, promoting increased autonomy and empowerment for all our participants.
In conjunction with our participation in Giving Tuesday on Tuesday, November 28, we are launching a month-long campaign with the goal of raising $12,000 to modernize all the appliances for this newly designed kitchen. Once completed, this kitchen will become a place where both our adult students and Berkeley after-school students can learn to cook in an accessible space while enhancing the overall aesthetics of our site.
How can you help?
• Donate: Any amount, no matter how small, makes a difference. 100% of your contributions to this campaign will go directly to the purchase of appliances for our new kitchen.
• Share: Please spread the word about our campaign. Share it with your friends, family, and colleagues, both online and offline. Your advocacy is invaluable in reaching our target.
Thank you once again. Your contributions enable us to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students.
Warmly,
Ala Costa Centers
