Hi, My name is Erin & I am fundraising on behalf of Greg Davies. I am also writing this on behalf of Brooke Crowe, due to personal reasons she isn’t able to write this at this current time.
In 2006 Greg was involved in a hit & run on his motorbike & suffered life changing injuries & his hip & leg & they have never been the same. Although he has been in constant pain & unwell on many occasions Greg happily volunteers with his Local Craigieburn Salvation Army.
On 25th February Greg was rushed to hospital with poor circulation & an infection. Turned out that infection was not only sepsis but also necrotising fascitis. For those that don’t know that a flesh eating bacteria.
After multiple attempts to remove the bacteria & a few sessions in the hyperbaric chamber. Greg’s medical team & wife had to make the difficult decision to amputate his leg. He still has no idea his leg has been removed as he is still currently in ICU in a medically induced coma.
Once he is well enough & woken he will need to adjust to only having one leg & will endure some pretty intense rehabilitation.
We are asking for any amount you can offer in the hope we can raise enough to purchase a van that will accommodate Greg in his wheelchair throughout his road to recovery & learning to live with one less limb.
Any donation no matter how big or small will be greatly appreciated it will be used to ensure we have means to get Greg to & from his appointments safely & comfortably
Thank you for the time to read our story :)
