Neville's Safe House

Hi, My name is Sarrah. In August 2019, I married my soul mate, Neville. We have been together for eight years and have a fur baby Doberman named Cuda Anne that is our pride and joy. On November 25th, 2019 I came home from work and found Neville on the floor of our bedroom. He was rushed by ambulance to Cottage hospital for treatment of a severe stroke. His main artery in his neck was 99% blocked and the entire right side of his brain was without bloodflow. Drs. rushed him in to surgery and removed the clot successfully. Neville stayed in SICU (surgical intensive care unit) at Cottage hospital for 12 days while being heavily sedated while he healed. During this time he was on a ventilator, but showed strong signs of fighting back. On December 7th, he was transferred down to One Ridley Tree at Cottage hospital were he began to have speech, occupational and physical therapy. During this time he was able to have his tracheostomy removed and back to eating a normal diet with thickened liquids. After 24 days of awesome care at One Ridley Tree at Cottage hospital, Neville was transferred to Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital just up the street. As of today January 3, 2020, Neville has already improved just since being at Cottage Rehabilitation hospital. Neville has extreme left side neglect as one side effect of his stroke, this means that he pays less attention to his left side and does not realize the left side of his world. This causes him to have a balance issue and also runs into things on his left side. Another side effect from Neville's stroke is extreme left side weakness. HOWEVER! He is working hard everyday to stand, learn how to walk again, regaining awareness of his left side and getting that left side stronger! He has extreme potential and looks forward to coming home soon.  I am asking for help from you, so that I can focus on helping Neville become stronger and be able to do the things he was before this hurdle came into our lives. The ambulance rides alone are close to $8000 and the last thing we want is for our first responders to not be paid for their services. For the first few days he was at Cottage hospital, Neville did not have insurance and therefore our out of pocket expenses are going to be intense.
