Hello! My name is Nevian Brown and I am a student at The Ohio State University. I am majoring in Health Sciences with a premedical focus and minoring in Biology. Recently, I have been blessed with the opportunity to travel to Zambia, Africa this summer with The Ohio State University’s education abroad program. I will be spending about 4 weeks in May traveling to different cities within in Zambia. This trip will introduce me to diverse aspects of Southern African societies and cultures. We will learn to understand and explain Zambia’s development in the context of globalization and understand why people behave as they do within the structures of human societies, cultures and institutions of Zambia. The trip costs around $10,000 to attend. Currently, I have $2,500 in scholarship money and savings from my on-campus job. Traveling to Africa has always been a goal of mine and as a future physician, I believe there is value in learning about different cultures. I aspire to join doctors without borders where I can participate in global medical service. This would be a great opportunity for me to develop professionally, personally, and academically. I am asking for your assistance to get me one step closer to making my dream of traveling to Africa, a reality. Thank you in advance as any size contribution is greatly appreciated.
