Never thought this would happen to us

You know the old”I can’t believe this could happen to me” ? Well it has and my sweet, strong, always willing to help ANYONE now needs help. On Saturday, July 25th, while riding home from Hampton Beach, NH, started saying he didn’t feel right. We got home and I noticed he was sounding strange, like he was drunk. I pleaded with him to let me take him to the hospital to be checked out, but being the stubborn “I’m fine” kind of guy, he refused. He was thinking that maybe being out in the sun was just too much. I had other suspicions and those were confirmed Sunday morning when he finally realized it wasn’t just too much sun. Steve suffered an Ischemic Stroke which has affected his right side, his dominant side.  He has a long road of physical and occupational therapy ahead of him. He had just started a new job 2 weeks prior, so we aren’t sure about insurance or anything. I have had to take FMLA from my job to care for him. I never thought I would ever do a go fund me, but we desperately need financial help to get through this. The last thing he needs is to have bills piling up or worse, lose our home that he has worked so hard for. Any little bit helps and I promise we will pay it forward when he gets better. As I told him, this is a minor setback for a major comeback. 

Thank you for any help you can give. He is a very proud man and will probably be upset that I did this, but I don’t want him to worry about the bills. I just want him to have a little peace of mind.
