Hi, my name is Darren and for me I’m in a horrible situation but I also appreciate so many are in a worse situation than me.

so I moved to East Yorkshire to try and better my life and that of my daughter. So I moved in in August 2025 and had savings to cover me until I got a job. So I spent the first bit of time sorting the house out and then went on the job search. I struggled and could not get an interview. I never thought I’d find it so hard. I then had what I thought was a mental health breakdown during December and didn’t leave the house for a month. I then thought I might be agoraphobic and over thinking. I drank a lot more to the point of calling an ambulance. When going in the ambulance I found out my heart rate was 170 which isn’t right. I then stayed in hospital for 4 days after finding out I had an irregular heart beat and had been on wrong medication for a while. So meds sorted I am awaiting further tests. I was aiming to become a taxi driver but due to medical issue and finances I haven’t been able to pursue. Then 3 weeks later my appendix flared up. So another 3 days in hospital to have that out. It took more time away from possible employment. The outcome of this is my savings have gone.

I need people’s kindness to help me survive until I find a job. I have just enough to cover me until end of March then I will default on all my bills including mortgage
