Nevada Urgently needs $2300 for hospitalization-Blasto

5/29 Update: I'm closing out this fundraiser with the donations made as goal reached. Unfortunately, this morning Nevada passed away unexpectedly. We are extremely grateful for each and every person that donated, shared the post, and/or said a prayer. We wouldn't haven't been able to even try to save her without your assistance.

5/28 Update: This evening's call from the doc was more of a status quo update, that Nevada is resting comfortably, vitals are normal, she's getting fed and walked every 6 hours...all positives. However, she is still oxygen dependent and that cost is what is increasing the price per day to $1500 for her care. Praying for much better improvement in the next 24 hours since she has been on the meds (a steroid and antifungal) and oxygen. The steroid is helping her appetite so she is eating much better, and will hopefully gain more strength to fight. When the time comes to bring her home, we need to let the clinic know ahead of time so they can slowly ween her off of it and see how she does. She's at about 85-90% oxygen, and they want her to be at least 95%. Doc said her breaths per minute have been varying between 100-120. The docs are really good at giving us updates twice a day between 5&7 am and pm when close to the shift changes. 5/27 Nevada update:

For the visit to her regular vet this morning, vet said Nevada would definitely benefit from oxygen treatment and off to the emergency clinic we went. A urine sample was taken to send out for more tests as well.

Nevada is under oxygen treatment and close monitoring for the next two days at VCA in Greenfield. Because of the type of infection this is, she could actually become worse before she gets better and that’s why it is a critical step.

Unfortunately our situation is far from over. She will also need to continue on meds for several months and need additional vet visits for X-rays and tests to see progress that the fungus in the lungs is going away with the treatment. We were told it could come back again even after we go through all of this.

It is also possible that if this treatment doesn’t work and the nodules still show in the X-rays, it may actually be cancer, but praying hard that is not the issue.

5/26. Hello, we are making an urgent request and pleading for assistance. Time is of the essence and this was a way unexpected turn for Nevada. She recently was diagnosed with hip displaysia and acute arthritis. She’s not even 3 yet. We have a care plan in place for that and she was set up for her to start therapy on Wednesday. HOWEVER, she hasn’t eaten much in the last two days (not that unusual for a husky) BUT this morning Steven noticed her breathing had become labored. An emergency vet visit came with a diagnosis of Blastomycosis. The vet suggested hospitalization but could be about $3000k a day for treatment. To get ahead of it would require at least 3 days. We do have pet insurance but there is also a cap to it which $7500. Please help us get Nevada back to her old happy husky self. Our care credit is maxed out now and saving is spent.
