Motor Neuron Disease causes loss of hand usage

Donation protected
Our mother, Jan Ramey has been diagnosed with a Motor Neuron Disease that has caused her to completely lose the use of one hand and is quickly deteriorating the other.  Doctors are not sure exactly what it is, all that they know is that it is neurological.  The hand that does have some movement in it is unable to grip items. She has difficulty holding utensils, opening doors, dressing etc.

There is no cure for the disease, seeing that they are unaware of exactly what it is.  We are asking for help to purchase our mother an Obi.  An Obi is a robotic arm that assists in feeding her.  Jan is a very independent person, so dealing with such a disease has proven difficult for her.  She would like to keep her independence for as long as she can and this technology would help her in doing so.

These funds will be used to purchase the Obi.  Medicare does not cover the cost of this equipment, so she would have to come up with all of the money on her own, with the help of her children.

Any contribution is appreciated. You can also help by saying a prayer for her, for comfort and peace during this time. We thank you all in advance.
