Neuro Rehab for Gary Pate

On September 1st, Gary/Pop had a massive stroke about 30 minutes after a carotid surgery. Gary has lost mobility on his right side as well as his speech. It has been a long and hard month with many ups and downs but Gary has been working his butt off!! Debbie has been by his side every step of the way.

Gary’s time at South Plains Rehab is nearing the end and Medicare (great supplemental included) will not cover the neuro rehabs (not just in the Lubbock area) that his medical team and his family know would greatly benefit him and his healing journey. He has been continually improving. We are still needing quite a bit of therapy before Gary coming to live at home could become a reality.

We are trying to make this specialized and highly beneficial level of care and rehab attainable for Gary (& Debbie). The Moody Neuro Rehab Center is $1500/day and he needs 60-90 days there. We are hopeful at that point he would head home for out patient therapy from there. This is just the beginning of along road to recovery.
