My mother-in-law, Nettie Jean Street, fell last week.  She broke her leg about 2 inches above her knee replacement.  Because of her age, the local hospital would not do the surgery to repair her leg.  She had to be transported to Lincoln, NE to have this surgery done.  She made it through the procedure with no problems.  A few days later, she was moved to an assisted living facility in Lincoln.  Medicare will only pay for the first 20 days at the facility and she will need to be in there for about 2 months to recover.  After 20 days, it will be $350 a day for her to stay there.  We need help to pay for her stay and for our travel expenses.  We'll need to be making multiple trips a month to Lincoln to keep up with her progress.
