Simply put, me and my brother just lost our mother. While I focused on school, my mother provided the tangible and intangible support as we continued to live together. This included rent and utilities. However, with her now gone, the immediate and foreseeable future remains entirely uncertain.
Due to how sudden this all is, on a suggestion from a friend, I decided to try and reach out for financial assistance through GoFundMe. Any help you can provide will go to ensuring that the rent and utility bills will be paid, allowing me to finish my undergraduate education by focusing on school. From there, I will be able to focus on getting the employment I will need to sustain myself and my brother.
I set the goal to $4,000. This is simply a high estimate for the next 12 months at most, estimating for any fees and such for GoFundMe. Any financial assistance you can provide, however, will be most appreciated and be used to make it through as many of the upcoming months as possible, so that I will be able to finish the undergraduate schooling that I began without any other worries distracting my focus.
Cost breakdowns by month are as follows:
Utilities (Light/Gas/Internet*): $150.50
Total per Month: $231.50
Total for 12 Months: $2778
*Internet is listed with Utilities due to modern day necessity of personal Internet service. This includes, among other reasons, for school work.
Any possible excess will be used for toiletries (toilet tissue, paper towels, soap, etc.). That said, toiletries were not factored into the above calculation.
Once again, any financial assistance you can provide will be deeply appreciated. Many are those who understand and can empathize with a sudden loss leading into a shift in circumstance that breeds financial insecurity. Whether or not you are able to contribute monetarily, I ask that you please pass along to others you know who would be able and willing to contribute and/or share themselves.
Thank you for your time and your consideration. And my most heartfelt thank you to everyone who is able to contribute, no matter the amount.
