Hi my name is Katy and I am raising money for my auntie Nessa and Matt to have the most amazing memorable wedding day. Nessa has always been the first person I’d go to if I needed help, she would always have your back and bend over backwards to help anyone. Previously working at St Dunstans, labour ward at the sussex and now both her and Matt work for the prison service. Nessa has always raised money for charity, doing race for life for cancer research and the Royal Marsden who holds a special place in her heart after a close friend lost her daughter to Cancer. Last year Nessa at the age of just 52 was diagnosed with Ocular Melanoma, Stage 4 terminal cancer, this was devastating news and hit us all hard. Nessa starting writing a bucket list and expressed how she and Matt wanted to get married. As it stands Nessa is having immunotherapy, but unfortunately is not fighting it as we had all hoped and preyed and is now palative. Throughout all this Ness maintains her dignity and is still worrying about everyone else. Ness’s motto has and will always be ‘positivity always’ and as she has always said ‘find the silver lining’.
