Neshi needs help ❤️‍

Hi,

Meet our beautiful baby girl, Neshi. She came into our lives 2.5 years ago on a blustery cold February night very feral and very pregnant. At the time, Tony, thought I had lost my ever loving mind when I set up our spare bedroom as her whelping room. It took 8 babies and almost a year of socialization to win her heart. She has come to Love and adore us and we can’t imagine life without her. Big tuff guy Tony, is putty in her paws and totally smitten with her. She sleeps with him. follows him everywhere and believes his only focus should be her and her wants and desires. They have an unbelievable bond that is so tender and sweet.

Recently we were out of town for a week. We had our usual amazing cat sitter, her Auntie Lisa. Lisa came and checked on her daily. All was good everyday. We got home Friday night and Neshi was beyond excited to see us. She cried and purred and rubbed on us ALL night. We knew she had been stressed by the hair flying through the air like a winter blizzard.

The next morning we woke up to 5 vomit piles and she refused to eat or drink. This continued until Tuesday. Tuesday morning I called 8 Vet Hospitals/emergency facilities before finally 1 said they would see her.

We took her in and they figured it was just an upset tummy from stress so sent us home with anti nausea meds, appetite stimulants and prescription canned food. ($497paid)

She continued to not eat/drink so Friday we took her back in and they did several X-rays. They determined she had free fluid in her abdomen and and foreign material in her small intestines. ($560 paid)

They said she now needed an ultrasound to get a clearer picture of what is wrong. They referred us to the only Hospital that would see her, Blue Pearl in Arden Hills. We picked her up and rushed her to Blue Pearl. They acted quickly and sedated her for the ultrasound. The ultrasound images still did not give a definitive answer of what was wrong. Tumor? Foreign object? Cancer? Our thoughts were dark and all over the place. They suggested rapid fluid therapy for 24 hours to rehydrate Neshi in hopes she had something that could pass. We headed home w/o her and hoped and prayed it would work ($1992 paid *advance pay was required)

Almost 24 hours later another ultrasound revealed it was unsuccessful. The surgeon called today to say the only option was abdominal exploratory surgery. ($6750 paid *advance pay required for the low end of estimate * High end $9000)

The surgery was successful and a small piece of “foam” was retrieved from her small intestine. Tony and I have searched the house from top to bottom and found nothing that resembles foam. We are elated Neshi will be ok and able to come home in a few days. Some may say, we are nuts, and could never relate but when we brought her in our home 2.5 years ago we made a commitment to love and care for her…..at whatever expense.

Tony’s Sister Denice, is Co-founder of S.M.A.R.T. It is a wonderful animal rescue located in Lonsdale. We have done fostering for S.M.A.R.T and Denice suggested we reach out this way to see if anyone could help with Neshi’s care. We would greatly appreciate any help! If you are unable could you please share.

Thank you so much!
