Nero is a big, beautiful pigeon who came to me with the worst stringfoot injury I have ever seen - the string was wrapped SO tightly around his ankle, that it cut into the bone, leaving his foot incredibly swollen and painful.

All of the string was removed but the damage had already been done. Nero now needs veterinary and at-home wound care to treat the injury, and to give him the best possible chance of keeping his foot. Our goal is to save his foot and avoid amputation if possible.

Despite everything he’s been through, Nero hasn’t lost his spirit. He’s confident, curious, and loves to loudly hoot and show off.
