My name is Melaney and I am Neriah's mom. Gage's mom, Elizabeth and I are starting this fundraiser to make sure our kids make it through this journey as stress free as possible! As most of you know Neriah and Gage are expecting a baby girl in August and we do know that she has a congenital heart defect called Tricuspid Atresia. As the due date for baby Miller gets closer we know there will be many expenses. They are currently doctoring at the Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. There will be several visits in the next month. Their sweet little girl is very small so they are monitoring this very close. Neriah will need to relocate to Minneapolis in July so she is close to the hospital when she goes into labor. However if their sweet girl isn't growing enough they may need to deliver early. They will be able to stay at the Ronald McDonald house once baby is born. The biggest financial setback will be that Neriah will not be working for several months. She owns her own business which is awesome but that also means that she does not have paid vacation or benefits and instead she needs to pay someone to work full-time for her. She could be in Minneapolis 3 weeks before delivery and once baby is born she will have her first heart surgery within days(unless she is too small, they prefer her to be at least 6 pounds) and it will be a 4-6 week stay to recover. After baby is fully recovered she will need a second surgery and several more weeks to recover. There will be a third surgery at some point. We also know that this sweet little girl cannot go to daycare right away. She will need to be fully recovered from her second surgery before daycare is an option. Gage will continue to work as much as possible and make the trip back and forth from Wahpeton to Minneapolis as often as he can.
