Founded in 2011, NerdHerd is a Yamhill County 4H, high school robotics team that competes in the FIRST Robotics Competition that is open to any high school student within the county. Currently have 12 students and working out of the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville. This year has been an incredible year for the team. They have obtained the following achievements:
- Second place at Oregon State Fair competition March 7th through March 9th.
- Winners of the Quality Award - Oregon State Fair Competition.
- Second place at Wilsonville competition March 21st through March 23rd.
- Winners of the Autonomous Award - Wilsonville Competition.
- Alliance captains of the number 5 alliance - PNW Districts Championship April 3rd through 6th.
- Placed 7th place in the PNW Districts Championship.
- Currently ranked 12th in the PNW (127 active teams).
- One of 4 Oregon teams that has qualified for the World Championships.
The robot is 100% designed, built, wired, programmed and controlled by the students, giving this diverse group of students skills they can take into their future.
We would love to thank all our sponsors this season. Along with the amazing families and friends that have been there to support us throughout this season. They have been there to feed us, transport us, help build field elements so we can practice and program and be our loudest fans in the stands.
The team is needing assistance with travel, lodging, food and since we are Nerds and will be in Houston, a field trip to NASA.
