Nephew's Quick Action Saves Family From House Fire

Hello, I hope this message finds you all well. My name is Crystal, and I am asking for help to raise funds to get my sister and her family into a new home.

On April 23rd in Cheifland, FL, around 6 am, a window AC unit caught fire in my nephew's (6 yo) bedroom. It caught the wall and his bed on fire. By the grace of God he woke up and ran out of his room, hitting his door knob on the way out. He closed his bedroom door, ran to his mother (my sister) and her husband's room, and alerted them of the fire.

The home was an older single-wide trailer, and the fire had spread quickly. My sister and her husband quickly got their two children (6 yo & 6 months) out of the home through the window in their bedroom. My brother-in-law attempted to save their 4 dogs but was unable to locate them in the dark and with the fire quickly spreading. They lost their 2 big and 2 small dogs. My sister ran two houses and multiple acres down to our Aunt, who helped get emergency services on the line and get them clothes. Within 30 minutes or less the trailer was engulfed in flames. Due to extensive smoke and fire damage, nothing is salvageable.

They all escaped unharmed thanks to the quick thinking of my nephew to close his bedroom door. Their lives are all they escaped with, as they lost everything and their beloved pets. Due to the age of the trailer, the owner was unable to insure it, and this is where the difficulties come. The community has come together to give them clothing, small financial assistance, and when they get a place to stay, they are going to help them furnish the home with things they will need.

I am asking anyone who reads this message to please help us get them into a new home. The owner is currently diligently looking to replace their trailer with a newer used trailer, but because he doesn't have the help of insurance, I am asking anyone willing to please help us, help him. The trailer was located on a property that trains, houses, and cares for horses. My sister works there full time, and so he offered them a place to stay so she could be close by to work. My brother-in-law also works full time. They do everything they can for their two young boys and are great parents. They help others at any chance they can.

Any donations received will go to the clean-up process of the damaged trailer and be used as a down payment on either a used or new trailer. My nephew saved his whole family, and for that, I am eternally grateful. Please help us expedite this transition into a permanent housing situation as soon as possible.
