Please help me with vet bills

In April 2022, my beloved dog Ollie was diagnosed with terminal cancer. We were told he only had three months left – but with love, care, and determination, he blessed us with 13 more precious months before passing in July 2024. I covered all his vet bills, medications, euthanasia, and cremation costs myself.

During that time, I also welcomed Hendrix, an American XL Bully, to keep my chocolate Labrador, Nicky, company. Nicky is deaf and relied on Ollie as his ears. Sadly, after new laws classed Hendrix as a banned breed, I had to take on all the extra expenses involved in his care and registration.

Now, heartbreakingly, it is Nicky’s turn. He is almost 13 years old, arthritic, and recently developed a mast cell tumour. He struggles to walk, can’t manage stairs, and is no longer able to climb onto his bed. On Wednesday, he saw the vet and was prescribed medication – the bill came to £800. Despite this, his health has continued to decline, and on Sunday 13 September, he will be put to sleep. The cost of his euthanasia and cremation is £415.

This past year has been emotionally and financially overwhelming, with thousands spent on vet care to give my dogs the best lives possible. I have never asked for help before, but with these final costs for Nicky on top of everything else, I would be truly grateful for any contribution towards his vet bills.

Every donation, no matter the size, will help ease this burden and allow me to give Nicky the dignified and peaceful farewell he deserves.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and support.
