Nepal Orphanage-Rebuilding A Home

Donation protected
On my recent visit to Nepal, I had the privilege of staying with a wonderful local woman, Pema, who introduced my friend and I to an amazing group of children at an orphanage in the jungle just outside of Kathmandu. The 35 children that I met there touched my heart in a way I can not begin to describe. Each is without parents due to illness, accident or civil war.  The couple that cares for them do the absolute best that they can with very limited resources that come from the generosity  of Pema and her Nepali friends. The government of Nepal has virtually no social service programs so the burden of feeding, clothing and supporting these kids is a daily struggle for this couple.  Even though she is disabled herself, "Mama" manages to keep them all in line and makes sure they get to school each day.

As the children have grown, so has their need for more space! Currently they all sleep in 4 small rooms, sharing multiple kids to a bed. It is our hope that we can raise enough funds to build them a larger facility where the boys and girls can each have separate space and an improved kitchen and modern bathroom. Pema and her friends will be  overseeing construction but they need us to help raise the funds. Please consider giving any amount you feel able, so we may build these resilient little souls a new home and show them that they matter in this world as much as all of us! Thanks

This is Durga. The wonderful woman who has gladly taken on raising these children. A true angel!
