NEPAL MISSIONS 2023

Hey Friends & Family:

I just returned from a ministry assignment to NZ and am preparing for a missions assignment to Nepal with a team of 8 (pastors & leaders from Hilltop City Church) in October. Unable to do a personal fundraiser or Missions Banquet for the Nepal Mission due to traveling I decided to do an online fundraiser to specific friends and family (like you) and I’m doing my part by sowing all the money I received on my birthday in September ’23!.

The Nepal Mission 2023 will have our team bring our physical, spiritual & financial supply alongside a church planting team led by a pioneering mother/widow Rev Bhuwan Kumari Sunuwar. Her pioneering husband Rev Kaji Sunuwar established the ministry of Shanti Church in 1991 during times of much persecution of Christians in Nepal under the previous regime but he continued preaching with a vision to plant multiple daughter churches in the inaccessible mountainous area of Sindhuli district. Rev Kaji Sunuwar passed away in 2012 after planting 3 daughter churches.

His widow, Rev Bhuwan Kuwari Sunwar took the baton from her husband and continued the vision & church planting work with her adult sons Dr. Ananda Sunuwar, Rev Barnabus Sunuwar and adult daughter Simiyon Sunuwar in the mountain areas around the Sindhuli District. The district is located 157 kilometers north west of the capital city of Kathmandu (approx 8 hour drive).The mountain regions of Nepal are vast, steep, isolated, hard to access hence a challenge to reach people with the message of the gospel however, with God’s help and the Sunuwar family’s faithfulness there are now 15 ‘mountain’ daughter churches! The Sunuwars continue to scale the Sundhuli mountains to share the Gospel with those who have not yet heard about Jesus and once people believe, a church is planted, with a pastor so the new believers can be nurtured and discipled to make more disciples.

First week of Nepal Mission 2023, we will hold a Pastors & Leaders Conference at Shanti Church Headquarters in Sindhuli. Our team will provide discipleship training and ministry-specific workshops for 150+ new pastors & leaders (including new pastors & leaders of the 15 ’mountain’ churches). This conference is being organized locally by our ministry partners (on the ground) in response to a proposed need from the church planting team & new pastors/leaders of the 15 mountain church plants (to date) in Sundhuli, Nepal. Our team members will preach the gospel & share testimonies at evangelistic outreach services in the evenings. The second week, we will visit & minister to a couple of the mountain churches (that don’t require too high of a mountain climb! LOL!) and minister to the forgotten leper communities and hospitals in the region.

No pressure at all, but I want to extend the opportunity to others (besides HCCS) to be part of what God is doing in Sindhuli, Nepal. Please give whatever the Lord puts on your heart. It can be as little as $20 (provides 2 meals for conference attendees) and you’ll have a part in this mission! ALL monies received thru this fundraiser will go to the 2023 Nepal Mission (except for GFM fees).

Costs per mission team member: (fare, lodging, meals & transportation) for 2 weeks = $3000

Cost for Pastors & Leaders Ministry Conference: (1 week for 150 pastors/leaders transport, lodging & meals) = $6000

We are believing God for fruit that will remain from the ministry training conference as well as souls, healings, miracles, signs and wonders from the evangelistic outreaches to the city and leper communities.
