Help Our Nepal Judo Family Recover After Devastating Floods

Our Nepal Judo family needs us now.

A heartbreaking tragedy has struck our judo family in Betrawati, Rasuwa, Nepal.

After the recent catastrophic floods, many judokids and their relatives have lost their lives, and many more are still missing. Families who survived have been left devastated, grieving loved ones, and facing the unimaginable reality of having lost their homes, belongings, and entire life savings in a matter of moments.

Their Dojo is completely washed away.

For many of these families, everything they worked for is gone.

Today, many are living in makeshift shelters with little more than what they were able to carry with them. They are trying to care for their families, mourn those they have lost, and somehow find a way forward, all while facing the enormous challenge of rebuilding their lives from nothing.

They cannot do this alone.

We are raising funds to provide direct emergency assistance to the families and our judo community affected by this disaster and want to help them build up a new one.

Together with the International Judo Federation (IJF), Nepal Judo Federation, Everest Judo Club, and the Japanese Judo community, we are working to support those affected and help provide immediate relief.

Our Immediate Goal: Emergency Relief

Funds raised will help provide:

- Food and clean water

- Clothing and essential supplies

- Temporary shelter and basic necessities

- Support for families as they begin rebuilding their lives and community

But our hope goes beyond immediate relief, we want to work together on building up a new future, with resilience and strength.

Judo teaches us Jita Kyoei: mutual welfare and benefit. It teaches us that we do not succeed alone, and that when someone in our community falls, we reach out our hand and help them back up.

Our Nepal judokas have lost so much. Now it is our turn to stand beside them.

The road to recovery will be long. Rebuilding homes, restoring livelihoods, and creating a sustainable future will take time. But with the support of our judo family around the world, we can help make that journey a little less overwhelming.
