Following the devastating flash floods of 26th August, 2026 in Nepal which affected areas including Rasuwa, Nuwakot through to Chitwan (North to South of Nepal) we have received many messages enquiring after the safety of our students; their families and those known to us in Nepal. The images coming out of Nepal are shocking, truly heartbreaking. The areas affected are known to our founder Lisa, who has travelled through and visited the areas where the devastation has taken place including travelling herself through the border with Tibet.

As you will be aware, the floods have caused catastrophic destruction and sadly, the death toll is expected to reach thousands. Although some of those known to us have been affected or impacted in some way, CFENC are relieved that no-one known to us have lost their lives. Some have however lost their homes and all possessions; some have lost family members. All of our students past and present are accounted for, as are our partners and team of volunteers. Search and rescue teams in Nepal are working hard to locate those missing.

We are always in awe of the strength, resilience and selflessness of the Nepalese people including those working in the emergency services. CFENC is therefore working with our trusted partners to identify where aid is required, what aid is required and how to coordinate, supply and deliver the aid effectively and safely.

CFENC have been connected with and have worked in Nepal for the last 22 years. As with the earthquakes of 2015 we supplied and delivered aid to many thousands of people, we will do our very best to work with our colleagues in Nepal to deliver aid to those in need.

Although not an exhaustive list, your donations will allow us with our partners to supply basic necessities such as:

tarpaulins, mattresses, blankets, bedding
first aid and medical aid
safe drinking water
sanitary items, menstrual kits inc. reusable sanitary pads
facemasks
baby clothes
food

This is only the beginning of the challenges faced by all affected. Not only for the immediate emergency phase but also for the recovery phase as Nepal is a low income country. The UN anticipates 17,000 children will be in need of urgent assistance. CFENC is keeping up to date with the situation and has established contacts with not only our own Nepal team, but other organisations working in the affected areas. We will continue to monitor how we can support the recovery phase.

We have already received many kind offers of support and we appeal to you, our family, friends, supporters of CFENC, Douée and our wider communities. PLEASE, donate what you can reasonably afford to support emergency relief for those affected. The best, most efficient way to do so is by using our Go Fund Me link. Please do tick the box if you are a taxpayer as we are then able to claim Gift Aid which will boost your donation.

Please donate today to support emergency relief for families affected. If you are unable to donate (and if you are) able to donate, PLEASE share this appeal as far and wide as you can. By sharing you could make a huge difference to donations received. We can all make a meaningful difference.

To those that have contacted us personally, to those that have already donated, thank you it means everything to us but more importantly we know it makes an enormous difference, to those in Nepal too.

With our heartfelt gratitude for your support, thank you (Dhanibhat)
