Nepal Flood Emergency Appeal – Together for Nepal
Nepal Needs Us Now
Nepal is facing a humanitarian tragedy on a devastating scale.
As of 1 September 2026, at least 987 people have lost their lives and 3,916 people remain missing following the catastrophic floods. More than 11,800 people have been rescued, but search, rescue and recovery operations are continuing.
Behind these numbers are real people — parents, children, grandparents, friends and entire communities whose lives have changed overnight.
Homes have been destroyed. Roads and bridges have been swept away. Families have lost loved ones, livelihoods and everything they spent years building.
For many survivors, the immediate struggle is now for food, clean drinking water, shelter, medicines and basic necessities.
Who We Are
This emergency appeal is organised by Nepal Scotland Association, serving the Nepalese community in Scotland since 2004, in association with the Himalayan Centre for Arts & Culture, Edinburgh.
For many of us living in Scotland, Nepal is more than a country thousands of miles away.
It is our home. Our heritage. Our family.
When Nepal is hurting, we cannot simply watch.
How Your Donation Will Help
Funds raised through this appeal will be directed towards verified flood-affected families and communities, including support for:
- Food and safe drinking water
- Emergency shelter, blankets and essential supplies
- Medicines, hygiene and basic necessities
- Families who have lost their homes and livelihoods
- Longer-term recovery and rebuilding where urgently required
Support will be distributed through trusted and verified organisations, partners or community networks on the ground, based on identified needs.
Our Commitment to Transparency
We understand that every donation comes with trust and responsibility.
We are committed to providing updates showing how much has been raised, where funds have been sent and how the money has been used.
We will work to ensure that the generosity shown by people in Scotland, the UK and beyond reaches those who genuinely need help.
Every Penny Matters
You do not need to make a large donation to make a difference.
£5 matters. £10 matters. £50 matters. Sharing this appeal matters.
If thousands of us give what we can, together we can provide meaningful help to families facing the most difficult days of their lives.
This is bigger than any one organisation.
This is about Nepal.
This is about humanity.
This is about standing beside people when they need us most.
Please donate if you can and share this appeal with your family, friends, colleagues and wider community.
From Scotland to Nepal, let us remind those affected:
You are not alone.
