Why We Are Helping

We are Black Mountaineering, an Irish-based mountaineering and expedition company with a long-standing connection to Nepal and its people.

For many years, Nepal has been an important part of our mountaineering journey. We have organised and led expeditions in the country, working alongside Nepalese guides, Sherpas, expedition staff and local communities. Over those years, many of these relationships have developed into genuine friendships.

Following the devastating flooding that has affected communities across Nepal, we have created this appeal to help families who have been directly impacted.

How the Funds Will Be Used

100% of the funds received by Black Mountaineering from this GoFundMe campaign will be used to support people and communities affected by the flooding in Nepal.

The money raised will be directed towards practical, immediate needs for affected families, including:

Emergency food and clean drinking water

Clothing, blankets and essential household items

Temporary shelter and accommodation

Replacement of essential belongings lost in the flooding

Support towards repairing or rebuilding damaged homes

Other essential recovery needs directly resulting from the flooding

Black Mountaineering will work through our established contacts and relationships in Nepal to identify families and communities directly affected and ensure the funds are used for the purposes described above.

We will provide updates through this GoFundMe campaign so donors can see how the money raised is being distributed and the difference their support is making.

Nepal and its people have welcomed our teams into their mountains, villages and homes with incredible warmth and kindness over many years. At a time when families are facing such devastating circumstances, we want to stand alongside the people who have stood alongside us.
