Nepal Trekking Guides Volunteer Team

We are the Nepal Trekking Guides Volunteer Team, a group of experienced trekking guides and local volunteers who have come together to support communities affected by natural disasters in Nepal.

Our team has been volunteering in disaster-affected communities for many years. We have previously supported people affected by the 2015 earthquake and other disasters in Nepal, with a particular focus on children and vulnerable families.

The above photographs are records from our previous volunteer work and of our team, including moments when we provided support directly to children and families affected by disasters. These experiences have strengthened our commitment to helping communities in times of crisis. You can view some of our previous work here

As trekking guides, we regularly work in Nepal’s mountains and remote communities. We know the local areas, trails, villages, people and we understand the difficulties of reaching communities that may be far from major roads and cities.

Nepal is now facing another difficult situation following severe flooding and landslides. Some communities have suffered serious damage to homes, roads, bridges, food supplies, and livelihoods. In remote areas, damaged infrastructure has made it especially difficult for emergency assistance to reach families in need.

We are coming together once again as volunteers to help.

Our priority is to reach children, families, elderly people and other vulnerable members of affected communities and provide practical assistance based on their most urgent needs.

Funds raised through this campaign will be used for essential relief supplies such as food, drinking water, hygiene materials, blankets, basic medical and emergency supplies, educational materials for children, and other necessities identified by the affected communities.

Because we are local trekking guides with experience in remote areas, we can work directly with local communities and volunteers to identify genuine needs and help deliver assistance where it is most urgently required.

We are not doing this as a business. We are doing this as Nepali trekking guides and volunteers who believe that our experience, local knowledge, and connections can be used to help people when they need it most.

We will make every effort to ensure that donations are used responsibly, transparently, and for the people who need them most.

Every donation, no matter how small, can help provide food, safety, warmth, education, and hope to a child or family affected by this disaster.

This fundraiser has been launched by Deb in Australia on behalf of the Nepal Trekking Guides Volunteer Team. She met their lead organiser, Govindaa, in Kathmandu in Nepal in 2016. He was her group's guide for the Poon Hill trek and introduced her to Nepal's beauty and community.
