Neonatal care - Tough Mudder

Thanks for visiting our page. As some of you may know our beautiful baby boy Sebastian arrived somewhat dramatically into the world on 22/3/16 at 33 weeks.
At our 30 week scan, Sebastain was diagnosed with a Duodenal Atresia (or double bubble) and as he was going to need an operation after he was born and specialist care, it was decided that Holly would fly back to the UK and Adam stay in Dubai and hopefully make the birth.
Sebastian decided to arrive via emergeny c-section less than a week after Holly returned to Scotland with Adam missing the birth (& Holly also missing it as she was unconscious, but that's another story)
Sebastian was taken for surgery at just 48 hours old and then the long recovery process was to begin.
After various unrelated setbacks Sebastian was then diagnosed with a laryngeal cleft and underwent 2 further major operations and 2 minor operations.
In what was a turbulent, emotional and incredibly stressful time, Sebastian continued to fight and get bigger and stronger. With 5 procedures in 11 weeks at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Glasgow and some time spent in the equally awesome Paisley RAH Special Baby Care. (SBCU)
Though this was an incredible rollercoaster ride of emotions we have decided we would like to thank these amazing units for all their hardwork and dedication by completing a toughmudder race and raising some well deserved money for a very special place and it's inspiring staff.
A Tough Mudder is a team orientated obstacle driven race in which some of our really wonderful friends have also agreed to join us in. Anyone who wants to see what we will be putting ourselves through have a look at this http://toughmudder.ae/
