Dearest friends, family and loved ones,
With extremely sadness I want to communicate the heartbreaking loss of my son Nelson Martinez Matias, a man who brought life and joy everywhere he went. Nelson was a son, a brother, a father, and a friend to all who had the pleasure to walk alongside him.
Nelson, or “Papo” as his friends and family knew him, was a faithful Christian who devoted his life to being a kind and respectful individual with all. His yearning and continuous search for knowledge, as well as his passion for teaching, inspired and allowed him to leave his mark on the lives of others.
On Monday, April 13th, our beloved Nelson reunited with the Lord, and now rests peacefully.
In such a difficult time, the loss of my son leaves us unprepared for the costs of funeral services and all that losing a love one conveys. On top of our grief, we are in the midst of a global situation that has halted many services and restricted the family to work toward creating a special goodbye to our beloved Nelson.
Many of you have reached out to the family and asked how to help. We have created this GoFundMe in the hopes of reaching you all in sharing our message. Extending a hand and helping the family through this difficult time will be forever appreciated. Your contribution will help pay for all funeral, burial and memorial expenses.
