Nelson Colon is a dedicated Local Union #3 IBEW member serving over 30 years in the industry. Nelson is one of the lucky ones that was able to have a career doing what he loves, being a union Journeyman electrician.  Over the years he has absorbed a wealth of electrical knowledge and skill that he has passed on to his fellow brothers and sisters, that were fortunate enough to work side-by-side with him. 

Recently Nelson has been diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Despite his condition he has kept good spirits and continued to perform his job.  As of early November, he has made the difficult decsion to retire from the career he loves to spend time with what is most important, family.

Nelson's unique sense of humor, charm, and kindness are all tell-tale signs of what a true gentleman is. Nelson Colon is one of the best human beings I've personally had the pleasure to work with, and consider a good friend. I'm certain I'm not the only one that can say this about him, so I have created this fund to give people he has befriended over the years an opportunity to give back and show our appreciation of a true gentleman.
