NELOMIE PERERA

Hi my name is Minoli Perera.

Nelomie Perera, the mother of 3 beautiful children, was murdered in her family home by her estranged husband. During this violent attack, her only thought was to protect her children. Although we can do nothing to change the past, we can come together to improve the future for Nelomie’s children.

Nel was kind-hearted and was always there for her friends, family and community. She had the most contagious smile and warm hugs to offer; to know her was to love her. She was kind, forgiving and always looked for the best in every situation.

Nel supported and assisted others in escaping family violence. It is a terrible tragedy that she was unable to escape her own situation.

The donation will be put towards the cost of the funeral 15,000 and the rest will be given to her children she left behind.

Just as Nel advocated for greater awareness of family violence, we, as her friends, family and community will do the same.
