Nelly trying to get to LIFT

Hello!

 

My name is Nelly, and I'm very excited to begin this next chapter in my life. These past few summers I've been blessed to go to a life-changing camp in the Adirondack mountains called Camp of the Woods (COTW). This is my second summer attending COTW and the amount of impact it has had on my life is astounding. I have made some really great christian friends, and some incredible experiences that will stay with me forever. Whether it be spiritually enriching bible studies, late bonfires, deep talks, water activities, road trips, or small groups; these past two summers have been quite the adventure.

 

During my time here I heard about a program called LIFT and about all the things that this program has done for people close to me who enrolled. They all graduated the program stronger in their faith, more spiritually disciplined, and each individually grew closer to God in their walks. So, the first summer I was like "I am not doing that," they were telling me how they did hikes, camped in the woods and some other things that did not appeal to a city boy like myself. Of course, knowing how God is it was a typical Jonah situation. I was really set on avoiding this call and didn't think about it for a whole year. I came back this summer and I am now overjoyed to say that I've been accepted into LIFT after much help and guidance from God and others. I am taking a huge leap of faith with this program because being a very logical person, this experience will be far outside my comfort zone. I know not the outcome, but I do know the means, and know God is calling me here. I would really love for you to be part of this journey with me. This is where you could help me out:

 

• The cost of tuition for LIFT is $1,000 dollars

 

• The cost for Gear that is required is gonna cost me $1, 400 dollars

 

• My car payments, student loans, health insurance, and monthly expenses is gonna cost me 3,600 dollars for the whole year

 

• I calculate the total amount I need to $6,000 dollars.

 

So if 60 people could give me just $100, I would reach my goal to cover my cost for LIFT and the things stated above. I really feel like God is going to move in my life and change me for the betterment of his kingdom through this program, and I really need your help to make this dream a reality.

 

It is important to note that give the nature of this program employment is not an option while I'm enrolled. I think the first step in this journey of discomfort God is putting me through is making me do something I try to avoid at all costs, and that is ask for help. Were I able to support myself through this program, I would, but unfortunately for my pride, that is not an option. I will accept any donation of any kind. Even if prayer, words of advice, scripture, and any words of affirmation is all that you can support me with that is something I will be eternally grateful for. Any support, earthly or otherwise, will serve as a much needed encouragement as I embark on this new chapter in my life.
