Hi, my name is Nellie — thank you so much for taking a moment to read my story.
I’m 22 years old and I’ve been living with epilepsy since I was a teenager.
For the past 7 years, epilepsy has brought a lot of challenges and uncertainty into my life. Despite trying various medications and treatments, my seizures remain something I’ve had to accept as a long-term part of my life. Living with this condition means constantly being aware of my safety — even during simple everyday tasks like walking outside or going to the grocery store.
That’s why I’m raising funds for a medical service dog — a companion who can truly help me live more safely and independently. A trained service dog can help position me safely to reduce the risk of injury or suffocation, and provide emotional support to help me manage the panic and anxiety that often follow.
Every dollar donated will go directly toward the cost of getting and training this life-saving partner. If you’re able to contribute, I can’t express how much that means to me. And even if you can’t donate, sharing this with your friends and family is a huge help and just as appreciated.
Thank you again for your kindness and support.
— Nellie
