Support Tokyo’s Battles with UTDs & FIC
Hi everyone, it’s Marina.
First off, this isn’t something I’m used to doing. I’m typically the one offering help, especially when it comes to anything veterinary-related, not seeking it. I appreciate any time and attention given to our situation.
I’m starting this gofundme with a heavy but hopeful heart for help with my sweet boy Tokyo. During his four years on this Earth, this poor boy has experienced all the ups and downs that comes with generalized Urinary Tract Diseases (UTDs), Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD), and Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC)—including facing rehoming and a major surgery.
Most recently, our move up to Tennessee from Florida has unfortunately sent Tokyo into another related episode after being relatively well-managed for the past year since his perineal urethrostomy (PU) procedure. He has experienced recurring, painful cystitis flare-ups that requires ongoing supportive treatments and medical management, veterinary care and consultations, and unfortunately a good deal of my finances and time during a period of the many already-demanding factors of a multi-state move.
Anyone who’s met him knows he’s a silly, affectionate soul who brings joy and “chaotic-good” energy wherever he goes. Watching him struggle through these recent episodes has been heartbreaking. Despite diet and lifestyle modifications, vet visits and consults, and preventive care, the costs are starting to mount; I’m in a place where I need to admit I can’t continue to do it all myself and ask for support.
Any and all donations will go directly toward:
• Vet visits and urgent care fees
• Prescription medications
• Diagnostic tests and imaging
• Special urinary support food
• Hydration and pain management treatments
If you’re able to give, even a little, it would mean the world to both of us. And if you can’t give but can share this page, that support is just as meaningful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, caring, and being part of Tokyo’s healing journey.
Love,
Marina & Tokyo
