Bill and Diane Bly have been more than friends to our family for nearly a decade. They are more than friends to everyone who has had the priviledge to know them. Spiritual parents, mentors, wise counselors, elders...they truly embody the greatest commandment to 'love God and Love Others.' Whether opening up their home and showing incredible hospitality to neighbors or caring for the numerous children entrusted to their care as house parents for several group homes--Bill and Diane have given their lives to serve God and those who are in need. It's not just what they do, it's who they are.
While trimming trees at their home on Dec 18, 2015, Bill fell from a 12 ft ladder. He broke his leg in two places and fractured a disc in his back. Lucky to have survived such a fall, surgeons were able to place rods in his leg and back, but the road to recovery is going to be a long one. They are both currently on leave from their full time job as house parents for at-risk children in a group home setting. A rigorously demanding position, it's not yet clear what their return will look like. They are literally living one day at a time.
A nasty infection in his back caused Bill to go back into the hospital soon after being released to rehab just before Christmas. Another surgery to try and get the infection under control was required. Bill was finally allowed to go home, where he could rest , and Diane is fervently fighting the infection that threatens his recovery.
With no income and limited insurance coverage, I can't begin to imagine how overwhelming their financial state is. This fundme account is being set up so that they can focus on Bill's physical healing without worrying about how to pay mortgage, buy groceries, etc over the next few months with no income.
I know that there are so many of you, like us, who would love the opportunity to care for Bill and Diane in a time of great need for them.
Please consider a donation of any size to this account set up to supplement income for the Blys. The money will go directly to them to pay bills, buy groceries, pay for therapy costs etc. With no current income, 3 surgeries, an extended hospital stay and continuing therapy visits...this is a great and immediate need!
I can't thank you enough for your generosity to help Bill and Diane through this difficult season! They would never ask for this and honestly, may never speak to me again for setting it up, but this is what family does. They've taken care of so many over the years, I know there are so many who would love the opportunity to give back to them. Thank you!
