Neila Needs Us! Neila Connors Needs Post-Stroke Recovery Support
Many of you have been inspired, motivated, and entertained by Neila Connors in her work with educators across the country via her keynotes and publications: (If You Don't Feed the Teachers They Eat the Students!). She brought a lot of life and laughter into our lives at every event.
On October 6, 2024, Neila suffered a devastating stroke that left her unable to use her right arm or to walk. She spent almost six months in hospitals and rehab facilities. She is home now and working hard on her recovery. She is still unable to walk or use her right arm and hand. All of this has made it difficult to manage her day-to-day life.
We are Glady Van Harpen (Iron Mt., Michigan) and Judy (Enright) Sanders (Moosehead Lake, Maine), who are former colleagues and long-time friends of Neila and are leading this funding effort. Recently, Neila shared with us, in a phone call, that she worries about her mounting bills and expenses every single day. That broke our hearts and kicked us into action! We know that there are so many of you, friends and fans of Neila, who would want to join us in helping if you knew about Neila’s plight.
Here are two ways you can help:
1 Share her story via this GoFundMe link on all of your social media accounts.
2 Please donate! Together, we can make a life-changing difference for Neila immediately.
Neila often said, “NEVER forget what it is like to be a teacher.”
We are asking you to “NEVER forget what it is like to be a good friend.”
Thanks so much for whatever you can donate…
"NEVER forget what it is like to be a good friend.”
