Neil Martin Celebration of Life

I am fundraising on behalf of my deceased dad, Neil Martin, to cover the costs of medical expenses, funeral and memorial costs, and any other after-life costs that may arise. Any donation would help, even 50 cents.

My dad was very ill and suffered greatly in his last six months of life. He was diagnosed with the early stages of a rare cancer called multiple myeloma in November 2021, as well as CKD. He was trying to live on and move forward with his illness by seeing several doctors regularly with the help of my mom Carole.

My mom and dad loved each other so much. They have been married since 1984! I truly believe my dad was able to cope with his illness for so long because he knew my mom was by his side at every appointment and caring for him at home.

A few weeks ago, my dad developed a severe infection, and since his weakened immune system could not fight the infection on its own, he had to be admitted to the emergency room in Gainesville, FL. The doctors determined that the infection caused his kidneys to fail, his liver to fail, his lungs to be damaged, and to be a risk of congestive heart failure. Through the next 12 days, my dad fought for his life, but ultimately, in the end, his organs failed him, and he passed away on the evening of May 5th.

My mom and I are deeply saddened about his passing, miss him greatly, and feel lost without him, but we know he is no longer suffering and is watching over us in heaven.

We are beyond grateful for our friends and family who have given us so much support and the entire medical staff at NFRMC who cared for my dad in his last days of life.
