When my brother and sister-in-law tied the knot on Halloween in 2019, it was a celebration true to their larger than life personalities, their endless whimsy, and their love for the spooky season. Empowered by families and friends from all over the world (and an unparalleled wedding hashtag #NotThatNeilDiamond), they had hope for the exciting next chapter. Unfortunately this shifted as the long-term reality of the pandemic settled in.

Like many others around the world, 2020 brought unprecedented challenges and Neil, Diamond, and their cats Cessy & No Name were no exception. They would go on to juggle the onset of long COVID, their primary vehicle stolen, and additional hospital visits/medical treatments in just three years. As their ability to work and their jobs changed multiple times, it has increasingly difficult for them to recover financially.

If you are lucky to meet them, you’d know that Neil & Diamond continue to be compassionate and caring individuals who look for laughter even when things have become tough. However these setbacks often brought the anxiety of choosing between paying their utilities and scheduling necessary appointments. With the help of their closest loved ones, they have picked themselves back-up each time and done whatever they could to stay afloat.

Unfortunately, another emergency hospital visit on November 10th and the follow up treatment has proven that they need greater assistance now more than ever. If you are able to help, please consider donating so their family can make ends meet and have peace of mind this holiday season (and hopefully beyond).

All funds raised will go to Neil & Diamond’s medical bills, wages lost during treatment, preventive care, and secure housing.
