In the memory of Neil Allanach

This fundraiser has been created by the Bristol Surf Club Committee, to raise money for a memorial, in the name of our dear friend, Neil Allanach.

Neil was a pillar of the Bristol Surf club. Remembered by all who met him as a kind, welcoming, caring, selfless individual. A man who was always there to greet you with a comforting hug and smile. He would go above and beyond for others and expect nothing in return, and had a wonderful ability to bring the fun with him, wherever he went. You always knew you would have a great time when Neil was around.

Neil joined Bristol Surf Club around eight years ago.

In 2017 he was the proud winner of the Rookie category in the Bristol Surf Competition.

In 2018 he became the proud owner of his first surfboard (which he lovingly named... Excalibar!)

He was a member of the committee in 2018 taking on the role of Beginner Rep which suited him perfectly with his welcoming and friendly nature. Even after he stepped down from the role he always actively made an effort to speak to new members and be a friendly face of the club.

We would like to set up this fundraiser, to raise money to buy a bench in Neil’s memory. The bench will be placed at Woolacombe beach (on the grassy area, beyond the car park, looking out over the sea). This place has been chosen as it is a beautiful spot that surf club members visit often. It will now also be a place where we can remember and spend time with our old friend, Neil.

We will chat with Neil’s family about the best way to spend any money left over from the fundraiser.
